5k-Mile 2011 BMW 1M now bidding at $62,500

One of the most special BMWs made in the last decade is arguably the BMW 1M Coupe. The “baby-M” has quickly built a cult around it and has become the darling of the BMW community. The limited run of the 1M sold out with a year before it came on the market, so naturally, it was bound to become a classic. Not only because of the low number of units made, but also because of its story, and driving dynamics. BMW was originally going to release the 1M as a limited production model of 2,700 units. Then due to overwhelming demand, the company lifted the cap and produced a total of 6309 cars until production ended in June 2012. Nevertheless, production of the 1M Coup stopped in June 2012, with 740 units sold in the US and a further 220 sold in Canada. Total 6309 cars sold worldwide.

Recent auctions on Bring-a-Trailer saw 1M units selling for over $72,000, so not surprising that this new listing is already at $62,500 with 24 hours to go. This 2011 BMW 1M was purchased new at Leith BMW of Raleigh, North Carolina by the seller, a longtime BMWCCA member. The car now shows just under 5k miles and is finished in Valencia Orange over black Boston leather with orange stitching.

Factory equipment includes the Premium Package, Convenience Package, navigation, and Harman Kardon surround sound. This 1M is now offered for sale at no reserve with service records, the factory manuals, a clean Carfax report, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.

The car is said to have been garage kept from new, and the recent Carfax report is free of accidents or other damage. Service records include dealership invoices as well as annual state inspection certificates. An oil change was performed less than 300 miles ago in July 2015, and airbag and battery cable recalls have been addressed per the seller.
